Free educational webinars for NHS staff

Over two days in August, NHS Elect will be delivering free educational webinars for NHS staff for 24 hours in a row. It will feature the most highly rated topics, including:

HCA Face to Face Clinical Skills Training – 2 Day Event

Date: 5-6 September

Introduction to Respiratory for HCA Level 3

The two-day course would be a combination of Asthma, COPD and Spirometry

Aims and Objectives –    

  • The session covers Basic anatomy and Physiology of the Respiratory System​. 
  • Awareness of common respiratory illnesses​ 
  • Overview of asthma and COPD, including prevalence signs/symptoms, triggers risk factors exacerbations​ 
  • Peak Flow monitoring – accurate measurement of Peak Flow​ 
  • Inhaler techniques including spacers 
  • R​ole of HCSW in asthma /COPD management​ 
  • Look at health promotion and change cycle 
  • Awareness of content within an asthma management plan

Leadership for Personalised Care programme

Recruitment is now open for this year’s Leadership for Personalised Care programme. The programme takes place virtually over three days, starting in September 2022.


The programme will include:

·       What personalised care is and what it means in your local context  

·       Building skills in relating and storytelling  

·       Collaborative leadership, host leadership and leading in complex systems  

·       Your collective leadership strengths and how to bring others on board  

·       Making co-production happen and working with local communities  

·       Developing your local plan for change.

Fully Funded English and Math's Qualification

Central London Training Hub is pleased to announce its second cohort Functional Skills Programme to help staff that do not have their Math's and English qualification to gain this within 12 weeks.

If you have any staff members interested in obtained this essential qualification free of charge then please contact me so they can join our current cohort.  This will be particularly helpful to those HCAs who wish to access the Nursing Associate programme next year but lack their Functional Skills certificates.
